Dev Diary #1: Wrinkles, Spirit Tree, and Customization

Hello, again, Villagers!

We missed you and we hope you missed us! There have been loads of new content created since we hit our funding goal and we can't wait to show it all over these next few months. Here are some of the new goodies...

We created the final leveled-up model of the Spirit Tree. As your villagers pass, their spirits will enter your town’s Spirit Tree. As more spirits enter the tree, it will grow, showing how old your town truly is. The Spirit Tree is designed to be the heart of your town, where you can remember past generations and receive gifts and guidance from the spirit realm.

Villagers have 3 age ranges: child, adult, and elder. These age ranges will now show more of a growth effect as they reach the end of a range. For example wrinkles and greying hair!

Oh, your villagers can also poop now that the Outhouse building is complete. Make sure you build one for your town or things will get stinky fast! Also, make sure you place it in the right area or else your villagers will get sick.

Speaking of buildings, here’s a sneak peek at an alpha version of building customization. You’ll be able to change multiple areas on each building in your town, and share your town color schemes with everyone. These building colors are changed individually so you don’t have to have two neighbors with the same color home.

OTK Games Expo

Last week we were at the OTK Games Expo and got 7th place out of 40 upcoming games! We were so excited to be there and the community has grown so much since then. Watch Nicole and I get interviewed here.

That's it for now! Our dev diaries will be more frequent now that things have settled down and we're producing a lot of new content. We are so excited for the future and thank you everyone for making this dream game possible. Until next time, I need to go harvest some tomatoes so my villagers don't starve.
